EMDR Therapy in Nevada
Healing Trauma at the Root.
EMDR Therapy
Processing the Past. Embracing the Present.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based psychotherapy that helps the brain process and heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences. Using a structured eight-phase approach, EMDR helps identify unresolved experiences, process the memories contributing to present-day symptoms, strengthen healthier beliefs about yourself, and regulate the nervous system. Through bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, tapping, or alternating tones, the brain can begin integrating painful experiences so they no longer feel as emotionally overwhelming. Rather than simply managing symptoms, EMDR helps address the experiences that contributed to them, allowing you to move beyond survival and toward lasting healing.

Attachment-Focused EMDR
Attachment-Focused EMDR
-
Attachment-Focused EMDR is an integrative approach to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) that combines traditional EMDR with attachment theory. While EMDR helps process distressing experiences, Attachment-Focused EMDR also addresses the ways early relationships have shaped your sense of self, emotional patterns, and relationships. My goal is to help you heal not only from what happened to you, but also from the lasting impact those experiences continue to have on your life today.
-
Traditional EMDR primarily focuses on processing distressing memories. Attachment-Focused EMDR expands that work by emphasizing safety, strengthening internal resources, and healing attachment wounds that often develop through childhood experiences or difficult relationships. This approach also focuses on repairing negative beliefs about yourself and creating healthier patterns that support lasting emotional well being.

I believe healing starts with understanding the root, not just managing the symptoms. While processing traumatic memories is an important part of healing, lasting change often requires addressing the attachment wounds, relationship patterns, and negative beliefs that developed as a result of those experiences. Attachment-Focused EMDR allows us to work toward healing the whole person, not just individual memories.
-
Yes. Attachment-Focused EMDR is grounded in the same evidence based principles as traditional EMDR. While standard EMDR is commonly described using eight phases, many Attachment-Focused EMDR clinicians conceptualize treatment within three broader stages: building safety and stability, processing trauma and attachment wounds, and integrating healing into everyday life. This framework emphasizes creating a strong foundation before trauma processing and supporting lasting change after reprocessing is complete.
